Realizing as I do that war is inevitable

Part 2

 - I wanted you to know-

This segment was written earlier: Just this afternoon I received a call from my friend Jim Neilson; another Korean War combat veteran that went through basic training at Fort Riley, Kansas during the same time frame as myself in 1949. He too ended up in Korea a year later during 1950-51 in the kill or be killed situation we have learned to call war. His outfit had been caught in the onslaught of overwhelming numbers of Chinese soldiers flooding into North Korea intent on sending them all to their early graves. Jim was wounded in action on the last day of November 1950 and then taken captive by the Chinese as a prisoner of war the first of December 1950.

Jim spent the next 33 months of his own hell on earth just trying to stay alive on the diet of rotten fish and wormy sorghum his captors were feeding them. The Chinese had taken a no nonsense approach in the handling of their prisoners of war in Korea. They offered them no medical attention at all; it was all up to the individual and to each other; to suck it up, bite the bullet, gut it out or die. Jim has told me about a badly wounded prisoner of war with an infected leg that either had to have it amputated or he would die of gangrene poisoning.

-Spilling our guts to one another-

His comrades weren’t going to sit there on their hands and watch him die a horrible and painful death; a decision had to be made and action needed to be taken. They got the necessary tools and the man power needed for the gut wrenching operation to follow. They sawed his leg off by hand as others held him as secure as possible. Remember these were not surgeons; they were combat infantrymen. After having completed the job they learned they had not left enough skin to cover over the end of the leg bone. We need to try and take our mind back there and try and imagine some of these extremely difficult times of having no choice, but in stepping up and getting the job done, that so many have had to experience.

They had to go right back at it and saw it off again. I hope we can begin to get the feel for the pain and suffering that men and now women too have had to endure and will continue on having to "hang tough"  through the thick and thin thrust upon them during war time. Paying the price in severe heartache and pain, that we might all live in peace, freedom and security. Like myself and most others coming home from such experiences; Jim came home; picked up the pieces and went on as normal as is possible. Later in life as we find others that have been there and done that; we are slowly learning how to spill our guts to one another. We have found it to be very therapeutic and healing to our soul. The Veterans Administration is helping us out more in this area now days as well.

-I received the Purple Heart for being wounded in action-

I had weighed barely over one hundred pounds after coming off the frontlines of Korea. I was skin stretched over bones; with my eyes sunken back in the sockets like Boris Karloff. I looked like a dead man walking. Nancy; my wife to be didn’t even recognize me or know who I was when she came to Percy Jones Army Hospital six weeks later to visit me. She just stood there in a daze as I walked out the doors of the elevator. Everything had been taken out of my system that could be taken out and still remain alive. Army doctors at Percy Jones Army Hospital in Battle Creek, Michigan performed two experimental operations on my internal organs to give relief for the severe effects that frostbite had taken on my whole internal system. I did appreciate their efforts in their attempt to give me relief and to help me the best they knew to do, but in the due course of time it only proved to add problems to my future mental, physical, and emotional well-being. The bottom line in this my friends is this; it has been etched in granite on the Korean War Memorial Monument in our Capitol City of Washington D.C.

-Freedom is not free-

At one point in an earlier time period, our squad had been pulled off the line in the late afternoon and our squad leader had taken us to the rear a few hundred feet where we came upon a humble, country Korean dwelling. The squad leader knocked on the door and an older man had come to answer it in light clothing. The squad leader grabbed the man by the shirt or jacket and tossed him aside on the ground into the deep, howling winter snow storm; doing so to make room for our squad to get in and get some relief from the massive winter storm. It was an almost, absolute white out, with new snow coming down and swirling around, in the strong winds, reducing the visibility down to a few feet. The old man got up and was trying to fight his way back into the warm hut. The squad leader hit him a hard blow to the head with his rifle butt and the old man was knocked unconscious, back out into the deep snow where I suppose he just lay there and froze to death; a few feet away from the door of his own warm home. We went inside and it was the only dwelling of any kind that I was in all the time I served on the front line during the 1950-51 winter in Korea. The warmth felt good, but didn't last long.

-The will to survive-

No one knows until they may have to face it themselves, what the cost and thought of survival does to the mind. We can think we know how we will act or react to certain things, but when faced with it, it can be very different. Remember how the Apostle Peter denied that he even knew Jesus Christ? His mind wasn’t prepared to face the consequences of what that would have meant to himself having to deal with the aftermath of acknowledging Paul. But for me in that moment of time the heat felt good inside the little Korean home; it was only years later as I began to contemplate the cost to the old man in my mind; that I was able to feel any compassion or empathy for that poor unfortunate soul that was in the wrong place at the wrong time. In less than five minutes later myself and assistant machine gunner were ordered back outside in the raging blizzard to pull tank guard. I still wonder why they (the tankers) couldn’t guard their own tanks, but ours is not to reason why, ours is but to do or die.

My assistant machine gunner at the time was a black man. The Korean War is where they first began the integration of putting black and white soldiers together. He was a very good hand at pitching in and getting the job done. We learned early on to trust and to respect each other. We had to hug up close to each other during that night in the middle of the unforgiving, relentless blizzard, to keep from freezing to death on what was supposed to have been our rest and recuperation time. Just one more example of a military leadership SNAFU. From a military stand point according to records it would have shown that we had been relieved from combat duty for rest and recuperation for a twenty-four-hour period and was now all rested up and ready for more action. When in reality, myself and my assistant machine gunner at least, were as warmed over death, dead on our feet. Then in great disappointment, when we got back to our position, the “Mickey Mouse” South Korean soldiers that had relieved us lost ground, and now we had to get busy fighting to gain it back, before we had even been fed.Life in the frozen hell on earth!

-Justice delayed-

Another example of our governments continued underhandedness, back-stabbing and gross injustice against black people since being set free by the Civil War, was alive and well still during the Korean War segment of time, and the following decade of segregation before integration in our country began. My black assistant machine gunner was a steadfast and brave soldier that never wavered or hung back, when needed, he was always there and I could count on him every time, one hundred percent. In a word he had the courage to stick it out no matter what. The afternoon and evening we pulled tank guard no one relieved us any time during the night. Without having each other to hug up close to in that howling, below zero blizzard snow storm, there is better than an even chance that neither one of us alone could have survived it.

The fact that neither one of us had, had a bath in a long time; and probably stunk to high heaven, made no difference at all. Black, white, yellow, red or brown doesn't count for anything if that guy next to you is willing to give his life to defend yours, and you likewise willing to defend his. The Army motto in fact is; "this I will defend".I know his being there saved my life, as my being there most likely saved his too. The sooner we all accept, believe and realize we are all the children of God; the more we are becoming like our older brother Jesus Christ; and this we ought to be doing. A year or so after this experience, I had healed up and gained back weight, and was discharged from Percy Jones Army Hospital to go back to duty.

-Leaving home a nigger, returning home from combat, still a nigger-

Because of my frozen feet condition I was sent to Camp Rucker, Alabama. To serve out the rest of my enlistment in the army in a warm climate. If my black assistant machine gunner had by chance been sent back to that area too, we would not have been allowed by Alabama law to have a meal or even a cup of coffee together in the same restaurant. We would not have been allowed to ride in the same taxi or drink from the same water fountain, my black buddy would have to have ridden in the back of the bus. I don’t know if my friend and fellow soldier made it home alive or not. But he was willing to fight and to die if necessary for this country he had called home, and all the people living here. He may have come home all mangled up and torn apart from wounds received. If that home he came back to happened to be in Alabama or in other southern states, he still would have been called a nigger to his face, by his white countrymen.

-Having to buy a nigger-

Myself and a white buddy stationed at Camp Rucker, Alabama; were hitch-hiking into Ozark, Alabama, one evening; when an older Alabama farmer stopped and gave us a ride into town. He had picked up a black soldier before he had stopped to pick us up that was sitting in the back seat as their law required. He let us set up front with him which was their southern custom and tradition. It was cotton and/or peanut harvesting time along toward the fall, as he began talking to us about running behind and having to get busy in that area. Then instead of telling us he would need to hire a man or get some help, he said, “I ‘m gonna have to buy me a nigger”. Indicating to me that in his mind at least, a part of slavery in the south had never ended, and he was going to do his part to see that it never did. My buddy and myself up in the front seat felt bad for the black soldier in the back seat, but we didn’t know what to do. At least we didn’t do anything, just elected to do nothing.

-Jim Crow laws in effect-

It may have been the old mans way of letting us, a couple of Yankee’s, know that they may have lost the Civil war but he was still going to use their own comfortable and traditional terminology that he had been brought up on from a young boy. Hearing this, the black soldier in the back seat, said, “excuse me sir, this is as far as I am going, you can let me out here”. The farmer stopped and let the guy out in the middle of nowhere, looking bewildered and not understanding in the least what the guy’s problem was. Not knowing the soldier was probably from a northern state and unaccustomed to being treated as Jim Crow. My buddy and I didn't say anything to support, relieve or take away any of the hurt that it must have caused our black soldier comrade as we should have done. I have always wished that God would have given me the presence of mind to have thanked the farmer for the ride and then gotten out and walked into town with my comrade of a different color; but the truth is we have to live and learn the proper way to respond to spur of the moment happenings such as this.

Jim Crow laws were state and local laws enforcing racial segregation in the Southern United States. Enacted after the Reconstruction period, these laws continued in force until 1965. It would do us white people good to spend a little time in contemplation and putting ourselves in the shoes of our black brothers and sisters in the struggles they have all had to endure while keeping their mouths shut, sucking it up and keeping on smiling. Learning to bow down low with a hung head; while acknowledging the superior white race. Still after exercising those expected southern manners to the white people back then; I have always wondered while being around black folks; why it is that they seem to be so laid back and enjoying life, even under those conditions. I noticed for example before going overseas, while still being state side during segregation, the black outfits stationed on our post seemed to be having way more fun than us white guys were. Most of them seemed to have an ingredient in their soul that caused them to be naturally and perpetually happy, they made it look easy for them to handle what was being thrown at them, and to turn it into something fun and positive to laugh about. It gave me a desire to be in their outfit, or to become as they always seemed to be.

-Fighting in defense of Wonju-

At an earlier point in time; during the Korean  War, we were fighting the Communist Chinese Forces, the (CCF) somewhere near Wonju, Korea, involved in “Operation Killer” that General Matthew B. Ridgeway had begun in defense of the valued strategic area that it represented. Our orders from General Ridgeway and the top brass was to inflict the maximum amount of causalities upon the enemy while keeping our own to a minimum. We would attack and withdraw, attack and withdraw at our convenience to throw the enemy off guard, off balance and to reduce our own causalities while inflicting great damage upon their troops as General Ridgway had planned for.

Mao Zedong the communist Chinese leader, dictator had sent word to his generals in charge of the defense of Wonju, to annihilate the outfit I was serving in, the 2nd Infantry Division. At all costs; all else was to become secondary. They would swarm over the country side like locusts. Usually the first wave would be armed with all of the necessary weapons to put a big hurt on us during an attack. The second wave would often be sent behind the first wave without any weapons at all. Their job was to go forward until they came in contact with a fallen comrade; pick up his weapon and continue going forward in their attacks; in hoping to wipe us all out from the face of the earth. In to many cases they were able to do that by their overwhelming numbers. But General Ridgeway, unlike General Mac Arthur, was a soldiers type general that led from the front. Not doing Photo-op's in the distant rear as was the custom of Mac Arthur, to keep his giant ego inflated to the max.

They had sent three divisions against our one at Wonju, in an attempt to erase us from off the earth. After the battle for Wonju had been completed; when the smoke and dust all settled we had inflicted 18,000 causalities upon the Chinese and we maintained control of Wonju and its strategic value to our cause. During this time frame however it had been an extremely tough row to hoe for those of us without decent clothing, food, weapons and shelter. Exhausted beyond belief by having everything taken out of our system during the attack mode of the day; and then never being reasonably refilled and recharged with any decent food or sleep at night as we dropped like dead dogs in our bed of ice and snow without any blankets or shelter at all. Sitting here writing about it today, still causes the hair on the back of my neck to raise up a little, while remembering all that was being expected of us and wondering how any of us survived. That question however has been answered for me at this time in my life. I know that God allots each one of us a certain number of days of physical life on this earth, and nothing or no one is going to interfere or shorten those days, it is God that determines the length of all lives, before we are even born. It just wasn't my time!

-Long distant hunting-

We had run the Chinese off a certain hill one afternoon and it happened to be a day of fairly mild weather. It was a high hill with a view, we could see a long way off in the direction that we were pushing the Chinese. I remember we had sat there a long time, actually relaxing, enjoying the sights of the countryside and getting rested up. We weren’t on an attack at the moment and wasn’t being under attack by the Chinese. By that time a tank had somehow gotten up there as well and it became a special moment unlike most other days and times of being frazzled, worn out and exhausted in bone numbing below zero weather conditions. We were communicating with the tankers which was kind of fun and unusual, we thought they had it a lot easier than us ground pounders. However; I got over that feeling after I had crawled into several Russian T-34 tanks that had been knocked out by our artillery or air force, and was able to see the charred remains of everyone on board. I lost any desire I might have had to be a tanker and die in a blaze of glory in a thirty-ton iron or steel casket.

-A reverse scorched earth procedure-

After talking with the tankers and looking the area over good, the tankers along with our leaders had been in the planning stages. We could see a Korean dwelling in the distance roughly a mile or two away. You could tell it was a traditional Korean home by the rice straw roof covering on it. Since we had run the Chinese off this hill, they would have seen this structure as well, and could very well be heading into that area. The Russians are known for exercising what they call, “scorched earth”, burning everything in their wake behind them during their assault on the enemy, so as not to be of any later use to them later on. These tankers did a reverse procedure by swinging their fifty caliber machine gun around where about every fifth round will be a tracer, it lights up. They have a small pyrotechnic charge in the base that leaves a trail to show the gunner exactly where he is shooting. In this way they had that house burning in seconds as those tracers began hitting the rice straw roof. The enemy would not get any relief in out of the cold weather conditions or any rest or relaxation within that pile of ashes, but by the same token, neither would we when and if we got that far.

-Some quality time and pleasant memories-

Korea during the years of 1950-51 in many ways was representative of living in hell on earth, and especially so for the poor and destitute, the old and in-firmed, the hopeless and helpless women, babies and little children whose home and rest was where ever they could find space enough to lay their tired and exhausted head down at night, in hopes of being alive in the morning. Yet for us soldiers in rear echelon service there were moments that stick in my mind that were really memorable and pleasant to look back upon as we would have occasion to mingle and interact with regular, back out of the way country folks, living in small villages or out among the hills and valleys still doing their farming, I suppose like they had been doing it for centuries. With oxen, mules or by bending their own backs like as all of their ancestors that had come before them. Being on security guard duty in Inchon, Korea, we had access to many different kinds of weapons and could draw all the ammunition we needed or wanted to. On our time off we would go into the countryside occasionally to hunt or just to target practice for something to do.

-A chicken dinner looms in our future-

One day we came into a farming type area that had a cluster of mud hut dwellings with rice straw roofs as most all of their country homes were made of. Maybe less than a dozen dwellings altogether with chickens, ducks and other animals running around loose. Maybe four or five families lived in this compound. There were three of us guards and we tried to make conversation with them in smiling, gestures and hand motions. They seemed friendly and were smiling back and trying to converse with us as best they could. I thought we were doing pretty good and we were having a good time when I spotted a big red rooster and mentioned how good that old rooster would taste if we could negotiate him away from them. I motioned toward the rooster with hand gestures of wringing his neck and eating him, pointing first to my mouth and then to my belly. They were all as one in making hand motions and saying domi, domi, which by this time I knew meant no. The other guys chimed in and tried to coax them into letting us buy the rooster, but it wasn’t looking to promising at this point. They stuck to their guns and made it abundantly clear that we were losing the battle for a chicken dinner.

-Chicken negotiations break down-

We showed them script money that the government had printed up to exchange for their money. It looked like monopoly money and they didn’t want anything to do with it. They began to get more firm in their collective domi domi’s as their jaws began to tighten up and the carotid artery up alongside the neck of the one appearing to be the spokesman for the group got about the size of a water hose. We knew then that the rooster negotiations had stalled at that point and we would have to go to plan (B) We talked it over for a couple minutes to get our plan of action ironed out. We decided what the rooster was probably worth, then one of us shot the rooster and we went over and picked him up and laid the money down where we had killed him, then left as quickly as seemed to make good sense according to their posture, body language and facial glares. We went back out into the countryside in another direction. It was obvious we had worn out our welcome at their little village compound, by the amount of Korean chatter we heard ringing in our ears.

-All we had now, was a dead chicken on our hands-

After walking another half mile or so, we spotted a single home dwelling on down in a valley with a few trees surrounding it. A sort of Korean Norman Rockwell setting waiting to be discovered by three hungry soldiers. It had cozy and welcome written all over it, as we approached it with a little caution. To our surprise and amazement, they were really tickled to see us and invited us into their home after we had gone thru the motions of letting them know what we wanted. There was a mom, dad and two kids, a boy and a girl if I remember right, that all made us feel welcome and at home. The mama san happily and enthusiastically agreed to cook the chicken for us as they all got busy preparing things for dinner. We were beginning to feel welcome and relaxed as a warm and cozy feeling permeated the ordeal.

We had entered their home and had taken our shoes off as is the Korean custom, and were sitting around in a circle with our legs crossed as the father sat with us. We did a lot of smiling and nodding and making conversation with hand gestures; as the mother was busy cleaning, gutting and taking care of the chicken. It had taken on a festive feeling because of the upbeat and warm welcome we were feeling from these polite, generous and hospitable people. We were all communicating now within the same universal language known well around the world. We were laughing, joking, patting the other guys on the back, making eye contact and shaking hands with each other and our host, raising a certain amount of controlled chaos and having our own party time fun. It causes me to feel good about it yet today and every time I stop to think about it and remember that day all over again.

-A truly memorable occasion is about to take place-

The father was exercising his head of the family position by giving verbal instructions to his family as time went on. It became obvious that he intended to make it a festive occasion to the best of his ability. He had called in one of his kids and gave him a note of some kind, as the boy ran off out of sight over the hills surrounding their home. It hadn’t taken the mother long at all to have a dinner ready to serve, as the boy came back with a container full of homemade milk sake. (rice wine) The father had the mother heat it up and serve it to himself first and then to us, prior to our eating. We knew it was meant as a gesture of great honor to us and we tried to let him know it.

We discussed it among ourselves openly because we knew they couldn’t understand us. We all agreed no matter what, we were going to yum yum it down as if it was the finest champagne on earth. We would not have been able to do that if the father had not taken the first drink and we had watched it all being poured out into our glasses. As far as taste it could easily have passed the test for being some kind of poison. It was beyond any doubt the ugliest worst tasting stuff that had ever gone down my throat, and the other guys thought so as well, but knowing what all they had gone thru to serve us a special Korean drink, we managed to stay cheerful and show our gratitude and thankfulness for their gesture of love to us strangers within their home.

-Now then, here comes the chicken-

The chicken and other food stuffs were ready and they made a certain kind of a thankful celebration in the serving of the meal. The mother served the father first then on around the table to the three of us. The mother and the kids ate by themselves later on in another room. The chicken was a surprise in the way it was done. She had taken a cleaver or something else and chopped it up into pieces along with other vegetables and other things we didn’t recognize. Although it was unusual to us, it was delicious, served along with some kind of little bread cakes. It turned out to be such a pleasant, happy and enjoyable occasion that It will never leave my mind as being a one in a million spur of the moment happening of pleasant memories that will never repeat themselves again, it cannot be duplicated by strangers in a foreign land that we just wandered in on without any notice.

Dropping whatever they were busy doing for themselves to serve in essence, three armed soldiers that were preprogrammed killers from a foreign nation. They had the presence of mind to recognize that we were there in their country to help them. To show our gratefulness and thankfulness as we left them, we each gave them items of clothing we had on. I gave them a field jacket and the other guys gave them something too. So as wars and being in a war zone is hell upon this earth, there are as well moments such as these that can stand out and recharge our batteries and allow us to see another side of people we were learning to hate and despise. I would be happy and pleased with myself to be able to rise to the level of love and service for my fellow human being, as this hospitable Korean family was able to do.

-Another hunting story with a twist-

Going on another hunting excursion in the hills around Ascom City and Yong Dong Po, Korea, this time being four of us guards. We came over the top of a really big hill as we looked down upon a small, village nestled in among some rice paddies. We looked the area over good with our binoculars and there seemed to be about forty, fifty or so people, men, women and kids milling around the area. There were some words written on the roof of a large building in the midst of the village, but we couldn’t make out the words. They have ridges built up around the rice paddies that one can walk on and on one of these ridges they had an outside toilet set upon the ridge. We sat there for some time observing their actions. As first one and then another would head out to the toilet on the ridge of the rice paddy. As one old guy headed out to do his job, we thought we would have some fun and began shooting around his feet and kicking up dirt on him. It didn’t faze him at all, he just continued on without a flinch in his slow and steady pace. When he came out we did the same thing that had the same results as he ambled back to the building area. Now we had our curiosity aroused and decided to go on down and take a look at them.

-Be careful to whom you trust your pig to-

When we cautiously approached them, they seen us coming and all ran out to meet us with big smiles on their faces and happy to see us. I noticed that one middle aged to older man was standing in the background with his hand inside his shirt, I cautioned the others, as I wondered what he might be concealing under his shirt, and asked my buddies to keep an eye on me while I investigated the situation. I walked back to where he was standing, as he stood there with a big smile on his face as well. I reached over and pulled his hand out from his shirt. To my surprise there wasn't much left of it, it looked as if it had been partly eaten away by something. We couldn’t figure out what the situation here was all about.

Most all of them were disfigured in some way and were an unsightly, grotesque looking group of people. They raised their own live stock for food and had ducks, rabbits and pigs running around. They all were just very happy to see us and hung around us like we were a novelty of some sort. We asked them if they would sell us a pig. It pleased them to no end but they wouldn’t take any money for it, they with great joy and happiness gave it to us. One of the guys with us had the first Polaroid camera that I had seen, and he took many pictures of their group which thrilled them to pieces. They all kept looking at them in amazement. I would give almost anything to have one of those pictures to look back upon today. We had a very enjoyable time at their compound; especially so considering we could not understand each other except thru actions and being able to interpret their welcome and friendliness. We took the 15 or 20-pound pig gift with us to have it butchered by our cooks so we could have some fresh meat. The dastardly, back stabbing brown nosing cooks instead made a special pork meal for the company officers.

-The rest of the story-

We had liked our visit with those folks so much, within a few days we went back to pay them another visit. We again ended up enjoying ourselves in the midst of all those friendly and happy people like before. All of the buildings were of a substandard and shabby condition. You could look right straight through them to the other side in places. Something was out of order here even in a war time Korea. As we sat there mulling it over one of the guys brought our minds back to the words on the roof of the large building. Upon a closer examination it became evident that by coming in over the hills we had stumbled upon a “Leper Colony” that had been set aside and separated from the rest of Korea. Unbeknownst to us it had been off limits. What I remember most, at the moment we had determined it to be a leper colony; a little scared shitless guy from New York named DeLong, took off as fast as he could run to get out of there,

I don’t know what he thought he was out running. We never went back again and within a short time the overwhelming number of invading Chinese and North Korean soldiers ran us out of the area, back down to Pusan. But that interaction with a sad and pitiful group on one hand, but on the other hand a thankful group of people that had every right to be negative, feel down trodden, and hate the world, instead found moments in time to relax and to enjoy their meager surroundings and to share them with others. So who are the winners of this world, those who lie, cheat, steal and bear false witness against others, those that claw their way to the top to rule and lord it over others by whatever mean necessary for a few short years, or the poor and humble of heart that have learned by necessity to wait upon, trust and put their confidence and faith in some higher power, in the certainty that for them life will never end?

Where or when should we mention God?

I personally believe that was all taken care of when Jesus Christ suffered and died the horrible and painful death of crucifixion to take all of the past, present and future sins of all of human kind upon himself that all of mankind could, and in truth would be saved, not one exception. No one good enough to save themselves, nor bad enough that God cannot or will not. To think otherwise to me, diminishes the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Beyond that it also is calling God a liar by failing to believe His Son is whom He claims to be, "The Savior of All Mankind". Most professing Christians these days regardless of the name of their church, worship and serve a god that is only able to save a few souls, some holier than thou folks that may spend a couple hours in church on the weekend believing everything their minister has to say about a Christian contrived hell where the rest of mankind are either annihilated and done away with altogether in the grand finale that is to come; or are cast alive in the fires of hell kicking and screaming in torture and pain for trillions upon trillions of years without one second of relief.

This supposedly from a loving God. Go ahead and ask any church member you may know and see what they tell you. By the way, what do you think about this matter? What has your minister or church taught you? Will you check out what your minister, your church is telling you as the Bereans were accustomed in doing to see if it is true? If you don't, maybe you need too. While most worship and serve such a god as this, others are learning to worship and to serve the God of all heaven and earth whose plan it has always been, to make man in His own image, after His likeness. God is in the process of reproducing Himself in mankind. We are sons and daughters of the most high, all of us, and Jesus Christ actually calls us gods in John 10:34 and psalm 82:6 to point out a couple places. For these reasons I quit attending churches of brick and mortar many years ago because none of them taught this truth. It has consequently been very easy for me to chose which God it is that I will serve and worship. It will be the God that actually saves all; all of my friends, relatives, acquaintances, none, not even one to be lost or left behind. My God and Savior are exactly what They claim to be, the Savior of all mankind and in fact all of creation. My God will leave the 99 to go looking for the one lost soul. God the Father has given all things into the hands of His Son Jesus Christ; and Christ will not lose one the Father has given Him.

-From student to teacher-

Today and for some years now, I have tapped into the internet where some ministers and lay people alike have learned this precious truth and are involved in passing it onto others at no cost to anyone. The minute a website puts a dollar amount on the truth of God or won’t allow it to be copied off, I get out of town and search and seek out other websites that follow after the admonition of our God when His Word tells us, “Freely we have received, freely we should give.” Everything on our website, www.thetruthstandsout.com is free to any and all, we have absolutely nothing at all to sell. Religion has settled into and taken root in most all of our so called Christian churches, its tentacle’s reach around the world. Most all of the so called Christian religion worships and serves a false god, wholeheartedly accepting and believing the most outright and evil anti God lies possible, being passed off as truth by a grossly deceived group identifying themselves as Christian, and here is exactly how we, each one of us individually will be able to decide for ourselves, the truth of the matter in this one paragraph, and on this one issue alone. The Christian religion around the world believes and teaches others to accept and to believe, that mankind has a free will; a free moral agent. A free will to decide for themselves whether or not to accept the free gift of eternal life from God Almighty. This may be the absolute biggest lie that Satan has been able to suck religious man into accepting and believing. That of accepting and believing as fact, as the truth of God, that the forty thousand plus reported Christian churches around this world, all believe to be true, when in fact it is the most horrendous, satanic egregious lie ever to be used to deceive human kind. All it takes to expose this lie about free will, is to ask ourselves this question. Which is most powerful, the will of God or the will of man?

-Free will is a Christian fable-

And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (We have no say in the matter, we must be saved) (Acts 4:12) Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. (1Tim 2:4) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2nd Peter3:9) What part of all does religion have such a hard problem in understanding? Why does religion continue on believing that man has a free will greater than God? When we can see plainly that it is the will of God that no one should perish? And what about the will of God; do we dare claim the will of man is greater than the will of God? That the will of man can override the will of God and decide for themselves they don’t want to be saved? And the answer is, of course not, the will of God will always prevail over and above any and all power on earth or in heaven. But where does it say anything like that in the scripture that would make anyone believe that, you might ask?

Ephesians 1:11. 11 In him we were also chosen,[a] having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, 12 in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. 13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. So it is then without question; it is the will of God that will always prevail. God is not finished with His final touch in bringing mankind up to god level; to be as He and His Son Jesus Christ now are. So we can put the foolishness of the teaching of the Babylon of confusion counterfeit Christian churches around the world right out of our mind. Determine not to suffer one more Nano second wondering about all of humanity that will be lost forever. No one will be lost. NOT ONE!

Even if all the people of this one generation could be saved, it would be only an infinitesimal fraction of the people who have ever lived, and there would be no victory for God, the devil would still possess the vast majority of mankind. It is estimated that about one hundred and sixty billions of human beings have lived on the earth in the six thousand years since Adam's creation. Of these, the very broadest estimate that could be made with reason would be that less than three billion were truly saints of God. This broad estimate would leave the immense aggregate of one hundred and fifty-seven billion (157,000,000,000) who went to their graves without faith and hope in the only name given under heaven or among men whereby we must be saved. Indeed, the vast majority of these never knew or heard the name of Jesus, and could not believe in Him of whom they had not heard.

-Has your deceived ministers led you astray?

I acknowledge, worship and serve the God of all heaven and earth whose promise before the world began was to save all of mankind. In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; (Titus 1:2) It is up to each one of us human beings to decide for ourselves at this time, which god we will acknowledge, worship and serve. No matter what our decision will be, it has nothing at all to do with our eventual salvation. We have no say at all about that. That decision was made by God himself before the world began and it became a reality when his Son Jesus Christ willingly took upon himself all the sins of the world, was crucified and died to pay the required debt for all sin for all time, for all people and for all of creation. To even think in our minds that even one person made in the image and likeness of God would either be annihilated and done away with altogether or spend eternity in the flames of a raging hell for trillions upon trillions of years, is to diminish the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, while at the same time causing Satan in their minds to be of greater power than either God or His Son Jesus Christ. Believing as they do now, that God could or would destroy a part Himself that has been put into all of mankind. There is no doubt at all, we all will die, there is no doubt at all either, we all shall be made alive. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. (1 Corinthians 15:22) There’s that word again that religion has such a hard time understanding, ALL shall be made alive.

So in conclusion to this letter I hope I have been able to help you understand a little more about the things that happen in actual combat with the enemy, as well as being in and having to live in a war zone and being made subject to whatever the people with the weapons direct you to do. Having to suck up all sorts of injustice without a voice to complain with or anyone to hear it. Along with that I have given you a very basic and short thumb nail sketch of what our bible is really saying to us through the Word of God in one important area as opposed to what the Babylon of Christian confusion that exists all around the world has been leading us away from in the forty thousand plus, different denominations, splinter groups and churches known by different names, that continue to preach and teach one hundred and eighty degrees contrary to the Word and truth of God on the subject of salvation; as well as most other issues too. If they are misleading and deceiving us in this, not having accepted or been given the truth of this matter, how are we supposed to accept and believe other things they all believe and teach in each of their separate churches different from each other? I could tell you the answer to that question, but instead I will let the Word of God do that. Here below is a general reminder from God Himself to help you do that.

Are we to serve custom, ritual and tradition or God?

Joshua 24:15

"If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the LORD, choose whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve God.

Genesis 35:2

So Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, "Put away the foreign gods which are among you, and purify yourselves and change your garments;

Joshua 24:16

The people answered and said, "Far be it from us that we should forsake the LORD to serve other gods;

Judges 6:10

and I said to you, "I am the LORD your God; you shall not fear the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live. But you have not obeyed Me."'"

Ruth 1:15

Then she said, "Behold, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and her gods; return after your sister-in-law."

1 Kings 18:21

Elijah came near to all the people and said, "How long will you hesitate between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him." But the people did not answer him a word.

Daniel 3:18

"But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up."

Micah 4:5

Though all the peoples walk Each in the name of his god, As for us, we will walk In the name of the LORD our God forever and ever.

Romans 12:2

Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, (of which these are some. Christmas, Easter, Halloween, Devils night, Lent, Maundy Thursday, Ash Wednesday, the Trinity, that man has a free will that can override the will of God, hell, Purgatory and/or any others) but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

Galatians 1:4

who gave Himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,

Here it is being spelled out to us by the Word of God, so as to be able to identify the age that we now live in, which is this present evil age. I am not telling you this truth, it is God that is reminding us all, of how to identify the age we now live in. He is telling us that we have a choice to make. Either choose Baal or any other pagan god of our choice. Understanding in the process however, choosing any other god will separate us from our Father God. That is exactly where those in the Babylon of confusion, the counterfeit Christian church stand at this very moment in time; as they one and all allow their church, their minister, and themselves to promote, preach and teach that which is contrary to the Word and way of God. Believing that lying to their own little children, which is His little children that they tell their pagan originated lies to; is something that pleases God and satisfies His commands and teachings. Let me bust your bubble here; it is a damnable lie of the greatest magnitude to God Almighty. To Celebrate a pagan originated time and season by placing the name of His Son upon it and calling it Christ-mass or Easter. By doing so we are willfully sinning by taking the name of God in vain, and profaning His name at the same time. It is time we examine ourselves by the Word of God opposed to listening to every word pouring forth from the mouth of your deceived minister. The Word of God is the truth, not me, not your minister, not anyone that preaches and teaches contrary to the Word and way of God.

How long will these pagan originated days of celebration continue to separate us from our God? When will our God whom gave His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to rescue us from this present evil age, remove that curse from the Babylon of confusion to allow them and all of mankind to see with spiritual eyes and to hear with spiritual ears, and to believe and to accept with a spiritual heart, that all of mankind without exception will be saved and become as immortal, spirit beings exactly like our older brother Jesus Christ and our Father God? God the Father is reproducing Himself in mankind. That is what He is telling us, and that is what he will do. However, it will be each in their own turn, in their own order.

1 Corinthians 15:23 (GNT) But each one will be raised in proper order: Christ, first of all; then, at the time of his coming, those who belong to him.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever. Then according to Malachi 3:6 He doesn’t ever change.

Keeping this in mind we need to look closely at how God is revealing to us all, His own position on us having other gods before Him. Anything that one puts ahead or in front of God becomes our idol, God being on the back burner while we are going after foreign gods. Let me show you in the Word of God one such foreign god the so called people of God were serving, as fore- runners of our present day Christian religion. Here we can see an established pagan festival of what became known later as a Christian “Easter Sunrise Service”. That exists still to this day.

Ellicott's Commentary for English Readers

Ezekiel 8:16 Between the porch and the altar. Ezekiel now returns to the court of the priests, and there sees—not about, but as it were (referring to the nature of the vision)— “twenty-five men.” These are probably the high priest and the heads of the twenty-four courses, representing the whole body of the priests, as the elders represented the whole body of the people. They were standing between the altar and the Temple, therefore in the most sacred part of the court, and there, turning their backs upon the Temple of the Lord, worshipped the sun. The adoration of the sun, probably the earliest form of false religion, was the especial worship of Persia, but had been long since practiced by the kings and people of Judah Thus all classes of the nation are seen to be involved in common sin; and the priests particularly, the especial guardians of true religion, are found practicing this sin under circumstances of peculiar insult to God. That the “chief priests” did pollute the sanctuary at this time is expressly asserted below in the history at 2Chronicles 36:14. Think about these words of God this spring while you are heading out to celebrate this evil worlds Easter celebration that has attached the name of our Lord and Savior to it. To deceive Christians into accepting and believing it to be from God, while it is a gross lie manufactured by the Babylon of confusion known as well as religion #101. If it is our desire to continue to pollute the house of the Lord that He made holy, then keep right on celebrating Easter and all the other Pagan originated times, season and days. Be prepared to accept all that goes with it.

All the officers of the priests and the people likewise were exceedingly unfaithful, following all the abominations of the nations. And they polluted the house of the Lord that he had made holy in Jerusalem. 2 Chronicles 36:14

Our God that changes not, has this to say

Deuteronomy 5:7 'You shall have no other gods before Me.

Psalm 81:9"Let there be no strange god among you; Nor shall you worship any foreign god.

Deuteronomy 12:30 beware that you are not ensnared to follow them, after they are destroyed before you, and that you do not inquire after their gods, saying, 'How do these nations serve their gods, that I also may do likewise?'

Exodus 23:13"Now concerning everything which I have said to you, be on your guard; and do not mention the name of other gods, nor let them be heard from your mouth.

Joshua 23:7so that you will not associate with these nations, these which remain among you, or mention the name of their gods, or make anyone swear by them, or serve them, or bow down to them.

Deuteronomy 6:14

"You shall not follow other gods, any of the gods of the peoples who surround you,

Deuteronomy 8:19

"It shall come about if you ever forget the LORD your God and go after other gods and serve them and worship them, I testify against you today that you will surely perish.

Deuteronomy 28:14

and do not turn aside from any of the words which I command you today, to the right or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

Exodus 34:14

--for you shall not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God--

Deuteronomy 5:9

'You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, and on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me,

2 Kings 17:35

with whom the LORD made a covenant and commanded them, saying, "You shall not fear other gods, nor bow down yourselves to them nor serve them nor sacrifice to them.

1 Kings 11:10

and had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods; but he did not observe what the LORD had commanded.

Jeremiah 25:6

and do not go after other gods to serve them and to worship them, and do not provoke Me to anger with the work of your hands, and I will do you no harm.'

Jeremiah 35:15

"Also I have sent to you all My servants the prophets, sending them again and again, saying: 'Turn now every man from his evil way and amend your deeds, and do not go after other gods to worship them Then you will dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your forefathers; but you have not inclined your ear or listened to Me.

2 Kings 17:38

"The covenant that I have made with you, you shall not forget, nor shall you fear other gods.

Exodus 23:24

"You shall not worship their gods, nor serve them, nor do according to their deeds; but you shall utterly overthrow them and break their sacred pillars in pieces.

Deuteronomy 7:16

"You shall consume all the peoples whom the LORD your God will deliver to you; your eye shall not pity them, nor shall you serve their gods, for that would be a snare to you.

Deuteronomy 4:19

"And beware not to lift up your eyes to heaven and see the sun and the moon and the stars, all the host of heaven, and be drawn away and worship them and serve them, those which the LORD your God has allotted to all the peoples under the whole heaven.

Exodus 23:32

"You shall make no covenant with them or with their gods.

To you whom have been reading these words of God; do you believe them? Are they the truth to you? If the answer is no, you do not believe them; In that case you are calling God a liar. If you say yes, you do believe them, are you willing to do something about it? No matter what you believe and accept as truth, you are my brother and/or sister in the Lord Jesus Christ. I love you and I know without any doubt that whatever you believe or fail to believe is strictly between yourself and God. God will at the appropriate time, according to His will, open the minds of all creation to accept and to believe His truth. He has this to say about that time in the future here in Hebrews. Hebrews 8: 10-12 10 This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord. I will put My laws in their minds, and inscribe them on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they will be My people. 11No longer will each one teach his neighbor or his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ because they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest. 12 For I will forgive their iniquities, and remember their sins no more.” Then again in Jeremiah 31: 34 "They will not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them," declares the LORD, "for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more."

I Will guarantee you that none of the so called Christian churches that I also identify as the Babylon of confusion; will be believing and teaching you or others to accept and to believe as well; That the plan of God is now, always has been and always will be to save all of mankind and all of creation too. There is no question about it at all, it is not something that is possibly going to happen, some day; it has already happened and cannot be reversed. The day that Jesus Christ took all sin upon Himself and died in our stead, then saying; “It is finished” That is exactly and precisely what happened in less than a heartbeat; All of mankind and all of creation have the righteous and true Word of God telling us so. When our older Brother Jesus Christ said “It is finished” We do not have to ask anyone the question of; what do you think He meant by that? It is only three easy to understand words that mean what Christ had finished doing. He had finished the work that His Father God had given Him to do. By taking all sin upon Himself, He delivered all of creation from all their sins. The reconciling of all things back to God the Father became a reality that in no way possible be reversed or taken back. God who cannot lie has kept His promise. We can do absolutely nothing to improve upon His sacrifice.
